The Lego trains and some additional track arrived today.
The packaging was so bad I was kind of impressed actually but Lego being Lego nothing seems to have been damaged.
After about four hours of speed building I was done. I took a lot of pictures and will upload a couple of the here, but there are many much better pictures of this set already out there.
The passenger train looks very inspired by the ICE trains from Deutsche Bahn. I’ve always loved the ICE trains. It could have been a little more detailed though, but I guess that just means more room for my own creativity. Some people seem to think that the interior of the train is underwhelming. I agree with this, but it doesn’t really bother me.
The freight train is well made and looks heavy. My only minor complaint would be that there is a hole in the roof. It look really weird but should be easy enough to cover.
Next step is to take a test run and then to start programming an Arduino.
Quick update: I did not know that the smaller battery boxes took AAA batteries. 🙂
Had to buy them the next day.
